Bay Area Hipster Chef Roast with Kyle Kinane, Paco Romane, Drew Platt, Richie Nakano and More

We are bringing a host of Bay Area comedians together to roast, toast, and broil 3time “James Mustache Award” winner, “Chef Kale Hendrix.” The Bay Area Hipster Chef Roast features Drew Platt with searing burns from Kyle Kinane, Kaseem Bentley, Krista Fatka, and Clare O’Kane, the show will be hosted by San Fran’s own, the “adorably self-deprecating” Paco Romane. As the comedians put Hendrix to the test, SF’s Chef Richie Nakano will be roasting a dish of his very own.

About Paco Romane:
Paco Romane has quickly established himself as a favorite with audiences due to his energetic, self-deprecating style. Onstage he uses his quick wit to spin just about any live moment and into his act. His comedy has been described as “authentic” and “engaging” and bookers have said “to call Paco an original is not an exaggeration” and “Paco’s comedy is a mash up of all things funny – stand up, sketch, improv…you name it” while political satirist Will Durst claimed “Paco Romane is one of the finest and funniest comedians working today” and the legendary comedian Michael Pritchard added “collaborative, creative to the genius level, and a trigger on stage, Paco is a true talent.” He can be seen quickly on Comedy Central’s Drunk History and was twice voted Best Comedian in San Francisco by the SF Weekly and SF Bay Guardian. A long time company member of SF’s premier sketch comedy group Killing My Lobster he wrote, acted, directed, and produced many of their sold-out performances. Paco also produced and hosted one of SF’s longest running comedy shows The Romane Event. In addition to being a comedian Paco is also a writer and actor and has appeared in numerous national commercials and films and is a sought after voice-over actor. He has worked with Robin Williams, Norm MacDonald, Jake Johannsen, Nate Bargatze, Moshe Kasher and has performed in many comedy festivals. He’s a regular at The SF Punch Line, The Sacramento Punch Line, Cobb’s Comedy Club and Rooster T Feathers.
He recently recorded his debut comedy album Shaped Like A Thumb and is the co-host of the comedy/documentary podcast Sup Doc.

About Richie Nakano:

RICHIE NAKANO is a chef and the founder of Hapa Ramen in San Francisco. Growing up in a Japanese-American family who loved sharing big meals triggered his interest in a food career. He worked as a waiter and bartender after high school and eventually enrolled in the California Culinary Academy. Richie started his career cooking Asian food, first at Sushi Ran and then Va de Vi and Pres a Vi. Looking to expand his repertoire, he then joined the team at Nopa, where he learned about seasonality, California ingredients, and layering flavors. At the same time, Richie was eating a lot of ramen throughout San Francisco and wanted a bowl that met his standards—made with better ingredients and proper technique. In 2010, he opened Hapa Ramen, a pop-up food stand at the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market. By teaming up with some of the best organic farmers and employing modern techniques, he pushed beyond the concept of what traditional ramen can be. He then opened Hapa, his first brick-and- mortar ramen noodle restaurant, in fall 2014, focusing on non-traditional Japanese ramen, and ran it to critical acclaims until late March 2015.
